CrowdStrike Outage Summary – July 18-19, 2024 

Around 2:00PM on Thursday July 18th – Windows Workstations and Servers that were running CrowdStrike, started experiencing a significant outage. This disruption led to widespread issues for organizations relying on CrowdStrike for endpoint protection and threat detection.   

What Happened? 

The outage was related to an update that CrowdStrike pushed for their Falcon Sensor, causing a failure that caused windows workstations and servers to blue screen (shutdown) and kept them from booting.    

Who Was Affected? 

The outage impacted a broad spectrum of businesses and institutions globally, ranging from small enterprises to large corporations. Most organizations using CrowdStrike Falcon Sensors for their cybersecurity needs experienced delays and down time. 

Resolution 

CrowdStrike has stopped pushing the update and has provide resources for fixing the issue if you are affected.  Please look at links below for these resources
